I added a couple more pictures from my house in Bellingham. I'm getting ready for a summer of field work, climbing and other things so I expect to update this a little more frequently in the next couple of months.

I finally updated this site. There are some new pictures from fieldwork this summer and Tucson with Julia and her sister Meredith

Some memebsr of the mountaineering class I'm taking went down to Leavenworth, WA this past weekend for some instructions on alpine lead climbing. Alan Kearney, who has been climbing in the northwest and around the world since age seven, was our instructor. Both days were sunny and windy making for a really great weekend.

This past weekend was our Snow Two field trip. My group hiked up to the Coleman Glacier on Mt. Baker to practice glacier travel and crevasse rescue. The crevasse we picked to jump into was enourmous; roughly 40 feet accross, 40 feet deep to a false floor and extending deeper beyond that than could be seen, and long enough that I could never find either end of it (maybe a football field, I'm not sure). I spent about an hour and fifteen minutes hanging in there, long enough for the near white out conditions to turn and the sun to come out so we could hang out above all the clouds. The trip ended with a two hour, 2,300 ft glissade back off the mountain. Thanks to Morgan and Ross for leading an awesome trip.

I just posted pictures from Snow One field trip. It was a beautiful weekend up around Artist Point by Mt. Baker. We all got pretty bad sunburns. Credit for some of the pictures goes to Julia. I hate writing blogs.

I've posted some new pictures from rock climbing with the Bellingham Mountaineers at the Skaha Bluffs in Penticton, BC this past weekend. Thanks to Joe, Alan and all of the other leaders for making it an awesome trip.

I just posted some pictures from a hike Julia and I did up to the Oyster Dome on Chuckunat last Sunday. It was a nice day and there were some good views from to the top.
I miss-judged the size that my pictures are taking up so I'll be able to fit a bunch more without any problem. I'm also working on a page about my thesis work at Western, that will be up some time in the near future.

This site is meant to be a photo gallery of things I've done lately. The web server I'm on is pretty limited, and I think I'm maxed out right now, but I'll keep this updated by removing old or boring or blurry pictures. The Galleries are not in chronological order, but dates are included with each one. The pictures are of my geology field camp last summer, field work I assisted Rob Issacson with in the North Cascades, the trip my Grandfather and Uncle John took to visit me, a quick hike up Chuckanut Mountain that Julia and I did, my favorite rafting and kayaking shots from 2005, and the alpine climbing class I am taking with the Bellingham Mountaineers. Take a look at them to the left. Most of the links seem to be working fine, but if there are any problems email me and let me know.
